John Rose, a member of the National Committee of the UK based Socialist Workers Party, has been an active revolutionary socialist for the last 40 years. He has a particular interest in the Middle East and especially in uncompromising support for the liberation of Palestine.

He is the author of many articles for SWP publications as well as a best selling pamphlet 'Israel: The Hi-jack State America's Watchdog in the Middle East' published first in 1986 & re-published 2002.

In 2004 Pluto Press in the UK published his book 'The Myths of Zionism' now translated into several languages including Arabic.

He is currently working on a new book, provisionally titled.

He works in London as a full time Sociology lecturer, with a specialism for training social workers. He is married to Elaheh Rostami Povey, the prominent Iranian writer on gender issues.
